#onthisday, “father of jazz” Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong passed away in his sleep. He was one month shy of turning 70. Did you know that, apart from being a wiz at the trumpet, he invented scat by accident? In jazz, scat singing is vocal improvisation using nonsense syllables. 
Did you know, he's been to Singapore once? Here’s a #throwback to when the legend came to our shores. That’s him in the middle hanging out with Singapore’s jazz pioneers at a party in 1964. Can you recognise any of the musicians in the photo? (see answers below)
