Last year, my mom passed away two days after Mother’s Day. But here’s a quick story...☺️the day before Mother’s Day (on a beautiful day like today) she was laying on our hammock, where she spent most of her last days being her cute self. She looked up at my sister and I and said “I think today is the day” and Gabs responded “but, mommy... tomorrow is Mother’s Day.” Her eyes opened so big and in English (because Cole was there), in her cute accent, she responds “ohhhhh, Mother’s Day.” And smiled.

She didn’t leave us that day. We enjoyed a beautiful last Mother’s Day with her. Floating in the pool, telling stories, laughing, crying, loving each other. My sisters and I couldn’t believe how blessed we were to have this woman as our mother. And we still can’t. I love this memory because THAT’S my mom. That’s who she was, the most selfless person. Even tho she was ready to go to heaven, she said nope — gotta hang with my girls another day. Another very special day.

On Monday she asked us smiling “is it still Mother’s Day?” we said “no mommy” and that night we cuddled... for the last time. 🕊 #fiosfight Wish you were here for another Mother’s Day, I wish you were to watch me become a mom, I wish you were so we can cuddle forever. I love you, mom.
