In her classroom and in the community, Prof. Kandace Hinton, PhD is committed to service. In addition to teaching graduate students in Indiana State University’s hybrid educational leadership and higher education leadership doctoral programs, the educator is also making a difference as the first Black woman to serve on the Terre Haute City Council. 

Dr. Hinton says she wants to help make day-to-day life easier for city residents who may be struggling, while in her classes she strives to prepare tomorrow’s education leaders to solve challenges facing K-12 and higher education students and institutions.
