Sunday, May 25, 2014, under bright sunshine, the 98th Indy 500 was held. The 2014 Indy 500 featured a record-setting race with impressive speed, intense battles, a red flag interruption, and a heart-stopping finish. 

The 2014 Indy 500 unfolded without any caution flags for nearly three-quarters of the race. There were 149 consecutive laps under the green flag, setting an impressive record. During this time the lead changed hands between seven drivers: James Hinchcliffe, Ed Carpenter, Helio Castroneves, Will Power, Marco Andretti, Juan Pablo Montoya and Ryan Hunter-Reay.
