TOP & BONUS IOWA

JOSEF NEWGARDEN Great weekend for the American driver, although unfortunately it ends with a bad accident for which we all hope there will be no consequences. Second in both qualifying sessions, he wins the first race ahead of Pato O'Ward and leads the second race for large stretches as well. Then that crash caused by a technical problem that exonerates him of any blame, a big shame because he would deserve the back-to-back.

PATO O'WARD Sunday's win comes thanks to Newgarden's crash but that does not mean it is not deserved, quite the contrary. Starting seventh, he managed to climb back up to second position, which he held until the crash. Not to be outdone on Saturday either, with a fourth-place finish in qualifying that turned into a second-place finish at the checkered flag. 

CALLUM ILOTT This time bad luck and reliability problems give him some respite, to the point that Callum is able to showcase his potential with two solid and not at all trivial races. He finishes 12th on Saturday and 11th on Sunday in a car that is not exactly the fastest on the track. We hope he can reconfirm himself in Indianapolis, he certainly does not lack quality. 

JIMMIE JOHNSON He is no longer a young man, those who know him know how much he has won in NASCAR. The title of "bonus driver" is richly deserved by the Californian driver, who turns in two good races in which he manages to gain quite a few positions from the start. Really nice to find him competitive again in Indy Car and we hope to see him again fighting with the leaders.
