## Caption

The #HyVeeDeals250 began with a clear start, which saw W. Power keeping the lead on J. Newgarden. The two Team Penske drivers soon became protagonists of a tight fight that lasted until the 250th lap, ultimately enshrining the victory to the American driver.

The crucial moment that made the difference in Newgarden’s race and allowed him to take the lead from Power manifested during the first laps, when J. Johnson spun causing the first caution. At the restart, Newgarden easily overtook Power, who was running on cold tires having just performed his first pit stop of the race.

At lap 114, the second caution was announced as F. Rosenqvist lost his Mclaren and touched the wall. The leader of the race, J. Newgarden, is among those who took the chance to come back to the pits. Meanwhile C. Herta had a problem at his clutch while pitting, which eventually compromised his performance in the first race of the weekend.

At lap 166, another caution appeared, caused by H. Castroneves, whose race finished against the wall. Most drivers go back to the pits for another pit stop. At the restart, S. McLaughlin slows down due to a problem at his rear right.

In the end, J. Newgarden crosses the finish line in front of P. O’Ward and W. Power, with the Arrow Mclaren driver who meticulously took away from Power the second step of the podium, after another tight fight. After them came the Ed Carpenter Racing’s driver R. Veekay, then S. Dixon, started from P13, and Alex Palou, who experienced a gearbox issue during the last few laps which made him lose the possibility for a podium finish. 7th came R. Grosjean, followed by M. Ericsson, G. Rahal and C. Lundgaard to close the top 10.

Worth of mention were also the performances of Chip Ganassi Racing J. Johnson and Juncos Hollinger Racing Callum Ilott, who came respectively P11 and P12.
