FREE PRACTICE RESULTS 🏁

On Friday 3 June 2022, the action begins at the Raceway of Belle Isle Park, Michigan. 
20 minutes after the beginning of the session, frosenqvist runs into early trouble, sliding into the barriers with his No. 7 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet during his second lap in the practice.
 
At the end of practice, it is kyle_kirkwood , recently announced as Andretti driver for the 2023 season, who proved to have the best pace today; the No. 14 AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet recorded the best time of the session, 01:16.1345 at 111.119 mph, by running 2 of the 3 fastest laps of the session near the end of the free practice. This weekend, the American driver will be competing for two different teams in two different series in Detroit: he is currently attending his rookie season in the NTT IndyCar Series, and he is also competing on the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexys team in IMSA.
 
Second came patriciooward , with 01:16.1556 at 111.088 mph, and after him Andretti Autosport’s alexanderrossi , third with a time of 01:16.5146 at 110.567 mph, whose big move to the Arrow Mclaren team has been announced earlier this week. simonpagenaud ‘s No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda arrived fourth, with 01:16.6177 at 110.418 mph. The top 5 wraps up with Sweden’s ericsson_marcus , winner of the 106th Indy 500, with 1:16.6574 at 110.361 mph.
 
After them, the leaderboard sees respectively coltonherta (01:16.6992), heliocastroneves (01:16.8230), smclaughlin93 (01:16.9552), grosjeanromain (01:17:0272) and scottdixon9 (01:17.1444) to complete the top 10.

Next appointments: Saturday 4 June at 1.30 pm (GMT) for free practice 2 and at 5.35 pm (GMT) for qualifying.
