"One of my favorite hikes to do in the Arizona⁠.
⁠
📍The Lava River Cave was formed about 700,000 years ago by molten rock that erupted from a volcanic vent in nearby Hart Prairie. The Lava Tube is located outside of Flagstaff, Arizona and averages temperature from 30s to 40s year around and is 1 mile long.⁠
⁠
🛣️ Getting to the cave is a 15 mile dirt road where high clearance vehicles have no problem and cars can make it easily just take it slow.⁠
⁠
🔦 Make sure to bring two sources of lights, water and a jacket for the hike. Watch your footing entering the cave as it is the most tricky since the rocks are wet and slippery, sometimes having ice. Also don't get too distracted watching your footing as the ceilings get low not to hit your head.⁠

When the cave splits about halfway through, the right will have a lower ceiling, and the left is easier. They loop together pretty quick.⁠
