What DOES a mother look like? 

❤️Did you know the traditional image of a mother, as perpetuated by mainstream media, may not reflect the diverse realities of queer and transgender individuals? This discrepancy can lead to feelings of exclusion, self-doubt, and a sense of not fitting into the societal mold of what a mother "should" look like.

🧡Queer/trans individuals may encounter numerous barriers and complexities when it comes to family planning and parenthood. They might face legal and bureaucratic hurdles, limited access to fertility treatments or adoption processes that are not LGBTQ+ inclusive, and a lack of support systems tailored to their specific needs.

💛Despite these obstacles, queer and transgender individuals demonstrate immense resilience, strength, and determination in their pursuit of parenthood that is not only inspirational to us all, but has served as a story of fertility, independence and ownership on the diverse journey of motherhood.
