It's #worldentrepreneurday (thank you shopify for the reminder), truthfully as with many things since the lock down, I've missed many celebratory moments with days and dates a blur. This month also marks a major milestone for us as a founder and the brand -  it's been 10 years since I founded mayanageneviere !

Looking back, I started #mayanageneviere with a need to better women’s wellbeing postpartum.  Opening our factory 5 years ago made it a reality.  And while we have evolved to supporting women at many stages of life, if you told me in 2020 we were going to repurpose our factory from making bras to supporting women and their families with masks and our midwives with PPE gowns - I think we all have the same reaction.

The one thing I learned is that while the focus in 2020 may be different, our values remain the same - creating quality products that are safe and healthy for the environment, and the wellbeing of the people making them.

Personally, as a mother I brought my family to work during these times - I had no choice.  As a #womaninbusiness we are faced with so many challenges. As a WOC (thanks to BLM the world has finally come to a much needed awakening), the challenge is multiplied 10x over. If 2020 has taught me anything it's that I am extremely grateful.  Grateful for all the opportunities, events and people who have supported me on this 10 year journey to grow my idea from a concept to reality to support so many women as an ontario_made business.

While we don't know what the rest of 2020 holds, we’ve embraced today’s normal by producing and developing #madeincanada pieces with care. As for our masks, we have new sizes based on demand and are excited to give you a sneak preview of our much anticipated lace version available soon. Link in bio for details.
