⁣#FashionRevolutionWeek during #COVID-19 has proven the call for transparency on how our clothes are made is needed more than ever. Unfortunately, since the movement began 7 years ago, not much has changed.  Brands still continue to exploit workers through the global pandemic.⠀

The fact that the word “ethical” has to be attached to the production of fashion is appalling.  As consumers, we expect brands to be inherently ethical, producing with the basics of caring for employees and the environment.  That’s why social responsibility is at the forefront of our garment construction. ⠀

At Mayana Genevière, we have always been transparent with ethical sourcing and proud of quality production in-house. We only work with mills that have the same values we do about people and our planet.  #whatsinmyclothes⠀

Treating our people well, is part of treating our planet well, that's why your garments are made by women who are paid a fair wage and produce in safe working conditions in Toronto. We are regulated by labour, production, and environmental laws and we proudly follow them.  #whomademyclothes⠀

While today isn’t business as usual, The health and safety of our team and supporting our community is our first priority.  We have repurposed our resources from making ethical luxury undergarments to producing non-medical masks to reserve the PPE for our frontline workers.  Our values of quality fabrication, sourcing and safe production still applies.⠀
