⁣Did you know World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August all over the globe and you better believe we will flood our account with breastfeeding pics and boobies as if we don’t already... and most importantly celebrating women who contribute to #normalizebreastfeeding! 🤱🏿🤱🏼🤱🏾🤱🏻🤱🏽 But first we wanted to take some time to really bring some awareness to the deeper socio-economic issues of breastfeeding and the purpose of the much needed education and awareness of world breastfeeding week.

Did you know:
🍈🍈Breastfeeding provides food security to infants from the very beginning of life, and contributes to food security for the whole family.
💲The economic advantages of breastfeeding ensure's food security even in times of crisis.
🏥There are multiple health benefits of breastfeeding for mom and babe.
👩‍👧‍👦Breastfeeding is a basic human right for women/mothers and children.
🌏Breastfeeding reduces environmental degradation.

Breastfeeding is not about: 🙅🏽‍♀️Shaming women who choose not to, or are unable to breastfeed for reasons that are no one's business but their own & vice versa.
🙅🏼‍♀️Judging women for the length of time they breastfeed.
🙅🏿‍♀️Body shaming women for breastfeeding anywhere - period.

BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS IS ABOUT HAVING THE RIGHT TO BREASTFEED WHETHER YOU CHOOSE TO OR NOT.
