BACKSTORY:👇
7 pm at night, Oct 14th, 2022 as I was in the upper peninsula of Michigan for a work trip at this beautiful Airbnb on Lake Superior. I was eating my dinner on the dock when I saw this hawk flying around. As a kid, I remember my grandfather being nicknamed “Hawk”. Something clicked in my head, make your first short film! I immediately started to write a script in my notes. As I wrote for an hour or so and eventually went inside and laid in bed with the script written. I thought no way the hawk is going to be there at 6 am before we leave at 8, just no way, but I set my alarm anyways. 5:30 came, BEEP BEEP! I sprung up and ran outside. When I looked up, there was no hawk, I immediately was like “What’s the point?...” At this time, it didn’t matter the stage was set. The erie, moody, cloudy vibe. I couldn’t pass it up. I just said to myself, lets go and started shooting my treatment. Halfway through the shooting process, I looked up and there he was, “Hawk” and a owl. The hawk circled for the whole next hour as I filmed. I was just in ahh. When I walked away I could feel my grandfather with me, it’s indescribable the way I felt. When I got home a week later and looked back at the footage, I had no idea you could see “Hawk” in the background of some of the clips. Life just came together. Creating this film changed my view on being an artist forever. Life can’t be explained but with this film, I caught just a little glimpse of God’s work, I hope to show you with this film you can do anything you believe in and when it’s pure. TRULY PURE. God will be right by your side, helping be your producer even when you don’t know it. Thank you Papa for showing up just on time. You still hold the record for never being late. I miss you Stiff…..

Thank you to those that read this all & thank you for watching “Hawk”.
