Warning: long post ahead. Trust me, it will be worth it.
Everyone knows about sweet Brooklyn and her sad story, but still she has not found her forever home. We have had Brooklyn for a little over a year and a half, but this sweet girl is about to turn 4, and she has been searching for her forever home her whole life.
Brooklyn was a mere 26 pounds when we found her; we were barely able to touch her, she was so fearful. Now, she is a happy, healthy 55 pounds. Personally, my favorite thing to do is go in her kennel and get a big bear hug from her. Yes, she's a little rough around the edges. She was hurt and abused before we found her, and since we've had her, she's been overlooked because of her breed and because she sometimes gets scared and barks at visitors. Our volunteers can attest that Brooklyn is just a sweet, loving baby in search of her forever home. She loves to go swimming, and she loves working with our trainer. She is a smart dog, and she wants to be a good girl in her forever home. She is a dog that can follow commands and a routine.
Brooklyn is not the dog for everyone. She is a special girl with her own set of emotional needs...just like we all are, though, right? Please spread the word so that we can reach those pit bull people that we know are out there, just looking for the next pit to save. Someone familiar with the breed is exactly what Brooklyn needs. And in return, they will receive a loving dog who will be eternally grateful to them for saving her.
Brooklyn's birthday is June 1st, let's make sure she celebrates in her forever home. She deserves it.
