Bhutan’s snowmanrace has been announcing its 25 invited athletes once per day over the last couple weeks, and it has some more to still come. So far it’s a mix of international mountaineers, ultrarunners, and multi-sport athletes. iRunFar’s own managing editor meghanmhicks was chosen!

Meghan Hicks is the managing editor of iRunFar.com, the preeminent trail running and ultrarunning website. Meghan started running at age 14, and has been a part of high-school and collegiate athletics, road running, trail running, and ultrarunning ever since. She ran her first trail race in 2005 and ultramarathon in 2006. She’s accumulated over 60 ultramarathon finishes since then, and her best results have been winning the 2013 Marathon des Sables expedition-length stage race in Morocco and setting the fastest known time in 2016 on the Nolan’s 14 challenge in Colorado, USA. She’s an avid mountain athlete with plentiful experience in challenging and high-altitude terrain, having summited over 100 high-altitude mountains and traveled as high as 19,000 feet in altitude.
