In honor of #EarthDay, we’re sharing posts this week about our conservation work in Montana and the grantees we have the pleasure of working with to safeguard the natural resources of Paradise Valley.

Today we’re highlighting montanawildernessschool (MWS), who AMB West Philanthropies has partnered with since we began AMB West Basecamp and AMB West Challenge Course in 2015, bringing their programming to rural and indigenous youth from small towns across Montana. 

**
As MWS prepares for their 2021 season, they’re poised to triple the number of students served this summer. We’re proud to provide access to AMB West Basecamp and AMB West Challenge Course for the MWS Yellowstone Expedition course and to have contributed financially to the MWS Scholarship Fund, which provides under-resourced Montana youth with the opportunity to participate in empowering wilderness experiences.

MWS has one of the strongest conservation curricula in the business. Students develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; respect for youth they have not traditionally seen as peers; an understanding of public lands and environmental stewardship; and place-based knowledge of Montana's Indigenous history and wildlife successes and struggles.
