As a white American, I am incredibly privileged. I am incredibly lucky that the only profiling/unfair disadvantages that will ever touch my life in the slightest is that I’m a woman. I cannot imagine. ⁣

What happened was atrocious, what’s been happening is atrocious. I’ve gotten messages and comments saying that I’m being silent when, to be honest, amongst all of this I am trying to learn how to be the best ally I can be. As a 20 something from a small farm town, this is something that, again, I am very privileged to not have these experiences of my own.⁣
⁣
Some of you will comment that this is not my arena to talk about, and to focus on fitness. As someone in healthcare, as well as fitness, I recognize that to consider real health is to consider the individual (holistically).⁣
⁣
So, I’m going to be better. I know we can sign petitions, write letters, donate to organizations, but how else can we be a better ally? Please teach us. #justiceforgeorgefloyd (all rights and credit to whoever originally made this art!!!) shirien.creates
