Unless your goal is to break a record or win first at a meet in a specific weight-class, I typically don’t recommend weight cuts. Maintaining strength and muscle mass while in a caloric deficit is not only difficult but can also add additional unnecessary stress to of trying to make weight.

If you do decide to cut weight for a meet, I recommend doing it slowly and over a course of several weeks or months depending on how much weight you have to lose – especially if your federation requires a 2-hr weigh in. The easiest way to do this is by tracking your caloric intake and slowly cut calories. rpstrength app is a great tool to use to help assist this process as it was designed for this exact reason – those who want to improve body composition but with minimal negative effects to athletic performance. #rpstrength #rpdiet

My initial goal for the summer was/ and is to cut body fat mainly for overall physique purposes, then reverse diet and focus on adding muscle mass leading into Nationals. Since the announcement of the cancellation and the possibility of weight class changes my goals have since changed. I’ll continue cutting weight but even slower than I’ve been and focus on maintaining my new body weight using the diet app. If you want to get lean and strong with me, use KRIS so save on all diet templates, e-books, and the RP diet app. #teamrpstrength #rpdietapp
