For most of my life I’ve had severe depression and anxiety, the kind you can’t deal with on your own. I had a lot of tragedy occur in my childhood and that really changes you as a person. I always felt out of place and pretty lost. For a while I was ashamed of the scars I wore and the struggles I had. But I’ve realized that life is damn hard, and it’s pretty naïve to think that anyone can live their life and die without scars of their own. When I started working out it was appearance based, weight loss based. Powerlifting has brought a sense of peace to me that I have never felt before.  For the first time.... maddyforberg
