Why is a “start” important for team sport athletes? Simply, athletes can reach about 50% of their max velocity by the end of the 2nd step. The greatest change in velocity happens here. Picture beating a defender 1v1 in any sport. Separation lives HERE. As a result we spend time working on starts in a “perfect environment”... static starts to learn patterns... then open it up to more chaotic game like situations to transfer the skill. Massive improvements can be made here quickly. #speedtraining #sprinttraining carlinisles pbake11 mrkevonwilliams #olympics2020 #olympicprep
