Okay okay, so maybe the singing videos are just Shaq messing around but something this seven-foot basketball star isn’t messing around about? The Women’s March Madness Tournament.

A few weeks ago Shaq told PEOPLE Magazine, “I haven’t even been paying attention to the guys, only been paying attention to the girls” citing that women’s basketball is “just a better game” and “more competitive.” As we know, viewership for the women’s side of the March Madness tournament is at an all-time high, and for good reason.

Reason 1: The top three NIL earners playing in this year’s NCAA Tournament are female with Caitlin Clark coming in at $3.1 million, Angel Reese bringing in $1.8 million, and Flau’jae Johnson earning $1.1 million.

Reason 2: Records are being broken left and right. Caitlin Clark set the record for most points scored in a single season. USC is headed to their first Elite Eight appearance since 1994. Not to mention JuJu Watkins is on the cusp of breaking the record for most points scored by a true freshman.

Reason 3: The MOST well-known college basketball player - by more than a 2-1 margin - is indeed, Caitlin Clark. A poll ran by Seton Hall found that 47% of the general population could identify who Caitlin was and in that same study, “Four times as many people recognized Clark as the most identified male college basketball player.”
