This morning, VCSO was recognized by the California State Association of Counties at the County of Ventura - Government Board of Supervisors Meeting for the “Etch & Catch” Catalytic Converter Anti-Theft Program.

Through the “Etch & Catch” program, which was first launched in Ventura County by our Moorpark Station, VCSO partners with local businesses such as auto repair shops, body shops and oil change locations, and utilizes the auto related businesses to etch a license plate number and place a fluorescent painted Sheriff’s star on the catalytic converters of participating residents, with the goal of deterring potential thieves.  In addition to providing the businesses with the spray paint, stencils and etching tools, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office also provides custom stickers for businesses to display to signify their partnership with law enforcement.

Esta mañana, la VCSO fue reconocida por la Asociación de Condados del Estado de California en la Reunión de la Junta de Supervisores del Condado de Ventura por el Programa Antirrobo del Convertidores Catalíticos - "Etch & Catch".

A través del programa "Etch & Catch", que fue lanzado por primera vez en el condado de Ventura por nuestra Estación de Moorpark Station, la VCSO se asocia con negocios locales como talleres de reparación de automóviles, para grabar el número de la placa y coloque una estrella del alguacil pintada con fluorescente en los convertidores catalíticos de los residentes participantes, con el objetivo de disuadir a los posibles ladrones. Además de proporcionar a las empresas la pintura en aerosol, las plantillas y las herramientas de grabado, la Oficina del Alguacil del Condado de Ventura también proporciona calcomanías personalizadas para que las empresas las muestren para indicar su asociación con las fuerzas del orden público.
