We’re introducing you to another one of our hard-working School Resource Officers! Deputy Amber Voorhees supports Westlake High School. She has served as an SRO for three years and has been with VCSO for 15 years.

“My favorite part of the job is making a difference in kids’ lives.  I enjoy helping them whether it is having conversations, listening to them, or encouraging them to pursue their dreams. It’s an important part of my job to be there for the students when they are going through a crisis.
 
I’m most looking forward to connecting with the students after the summer, seeing the middle school students who moved to high school, and being back to somewhat “normal” school days since Covid.”

¡Le presentamos a otro de nuestros Oficiales de recursos escolares (SRO) que trabajan arduamente! La Agente Amber Voorhees apoya a la Westlake High School. Se ha desempeñado como SRO durante tres años y ha estado con la VCSO durante 15 años.

“Mi parte favorita del trabajo es marcar una diferencia en la vida de los niños. Disfruto ayudarlos, ya sea teniendo conversaciones, escuchándolos o alentándolos a perseguir sus sueños. Es una parte importante de mi trabajo estar ahí para los estudiantes cuando atraviesan una crisis.

Tengo muchas ganas de conectarme con los estudiantes después del verano, ver a los estudiantes que se graduaron para ir a la preparatoria y volver a los días escolares algo "normales" desde que empezó el covid ".
