Here is our very own ambassador running_ Ellie Lacey “I'm a liver transplant recipient and part of Team GB for the 2019 World Transplant Games. A deep love of mountain running, had my first beautiful baby and forever grateful to my organ donor.

Last year I was given a second chance at life after receiving a very unexpected and very urgent liver transplant. Before my transplant, I was a runner. Since my transplant, I'm a runner with a new thirst for life and appreciation for everything, especially mountain running. 
Why do I run? I run because I can, because I was 48 hours from death and never being able to run again. I run because my wonderful organ donor gave me the gift to be able to use my body. I owe it to her to keep that gift in tip-top condition and to live a life big and brave enough for both of us. I've just qualified to represent Team GB for the World Transplant Games 2019, and it's all for her. She gave me my life and thanks to her I've also had my first baby - first baby and future Olympian!
