Junior Lauren Chu is featured in this week’s #MajorMonday! “In high school, I took an AP psychology class and fell absolutely in love with the subject. I became extremely passionate about human behavior and thought processes, so I decided to continue my studies and major in psychology when I came to UC Davis. There is so much to learn about how we all interact socially as well as our individual differences. So far, my favorite class has been abnormal psychology because it has deepened my understanding about  mental illnesses and the prevalence of mental health issues that have been brought to light within the past few years. I’m currently learning about anxiety disorders and it fascinates me how relevant general anxiety has become within 2020, considering how the undesirable conditions are affecting people’s mental health on such a large scale. After I graduate, I hopefully plan to work in Human Resources for the army or navy. I believe that my mental toughness from gymnastics along with my passion for interpersonal relations will be pushed to the limits in a military setting. I aspire to work as a Human Resources specialist somewhere within the military setting.” #BeyondGymnastics #ThisIsWhoWeAre #GoAgs
