We are recommending investing an estimated $10.2 billion on capital investments that will start or continue in this business cycle. This includes:

📚 Three new libraries in Walden, Belmont and Skyview Ranch. 
🏘️ An affordable housing project that will create 200 new safe, stable homes. 
🔌 Electrification of select City vehicles and buses.
🚒 Four new fire stations in South Shepard, Haskayne, Belmont and Walden.
🚧 A major intersection upgrade at Glenmore and 68 Street.
🌐 Wireless infrastructure to grow Calgary as a smart city and 5G hub.
💦 Continuing to invest in communities to prevent flooding; and improving our ability to protect the river by improving stormwater/run-off quality.
🚽 Expanding our wastewater treatment capabilities to keep pace with a growing city and to continue to protect the river. 

Capital planning and investment play a pivotal role in creating inclusive, accessible, and connected communities and dynamic economies, contributing to a resilient city. These investments will continue to provide economic, social and environmental benefits to Calgarians now and into the future. They will be reviewed by Council starting Nov. 21.
