Canada Day is a week away! 🇨🇦 

In-person celebrations are back on July 1 at three downtown locations:
📍 Fort Calgary (170 9 Ave. S.E.)
📍 Olympic Plaza (228 8 Ave S.W.)
📍 St. Patrick’s Island (1300 Zoo Rd. N.E.)

We’re excited to get together and celebrate the Original Peoples of Canada and what it means to be Canadian. Enjoy live entertainment, the Indigenous Showcase and Powwow, food trucks, face painting, spectacular fireworks (this year from the Municipal Bldg.) & more. Please consider walking, biking or taking transit downtown.

🇨🇦 Highlights: 🇨🇦
➡️11am-5pm at Fort Calgary: Indigenous Showcase and Powwow with a focus on education and reconciliation with Indigenous leader & founder of the Orange Shirt Day Society – Phyllis Webstad speaking from 11:30am-12:30pm about her story of residential school survival.

➡️3-11pm at TD Canada Stage at Fort Calgary – all Canadian line-up of musical performances with emcee Angela Knight (CBC), plus rock band Sloan, headlining at 9:45pm.

➡️11am-5pm at Olympic Plaza – summertime ArtsXpeditions performances from Arts Commons featuring jazz, Indigenous, Afro-Fusion, hip-hop, country & more.

➡️11am-5pm at St. Patrick’s Island – family friendly entertainment including music, arts & theatre, activities and plenty of outdoor space to play, eat & enjoy the day.

➡️11pm from the Municipal Building (800 Macleod Trail S.E.) – Fireworks! Watch live at Calgary.ca/CanadaDay or in-person from anywhere within view of the building.
