Today, City Council will be discussing a package of Council-proposed investments for the 2022 budget adjustments that were compiled in response to Council questions, as well as new operating investment opportunities proposed by Administration.

Administration’s proposed new operating investment opportunities include funding to support:
• Reducing implementation time in the privacy program strategic plan
• Executive Leadership service line service improvements
• An Elections Calgary capacity increase
• The realignment initiative
• An adjustment for inflationary pressure
• An equity action and resourcing plan
• The Indigenous Relations Office
• The 2022 Parks and Open Spaces Pandemic Recovery program
• Our relationships with civic partners, wholly-owned subsidiaries, and Business Improvement Areas
• The Calgary Fire Department officer development program
• Lease of the Livingston and Belvedere fire stations for 10 years
• Government relations
• An innovation flexible partner model growth
• An additional year one investment in the Resilient Roofing Rebate Program
• Bolstering growth funding and investment
• An employee safety investment and long-term cost reduction

Council-proposed investments include funding to support: 
• Affordable housing
• Downtown
• Local area planning
• Climate
• Arts & culture support
• Equity
• Public safety
• Transportation
• Information technology
• Snow and ice control
• Calgary Zoological Society
