We have so much love for the city of Los Angeles! Over the next few weeks we’ll be highlighting some exciting spots in LA that are easy to get to from campus and a few that are worth a longer trek.

🌆 Today we’re looking at the area around Pershing Square in Downtown LA, which is full of interesting places to explore. Here are three destinations to get you started.

📚 lastbookstorela is a magnet for book lovers with plenty of photo ops! Buy, sell and trade books, vinyl records and graphic novels, plus visit the art galleries and epic yarn shop. Don't miss the famous book tunnel.

🚃 Experience a piece of L.A. history — take a ride on angelsflightrailway, the Bunker Hill funicular originally constructed in 1901. One dollar takes you between Hill Street (right outside Grand Central Market, see below) up to California Plaza.

🌮 ☕ 🥪 Once you work up an appetite, head to grandcentralmarketla, a cultural hub with more than 30 different food and drink vendors.

🚇 To get to Pershing Square, just hop on the metrolosangeles Expo line at Expo Park/USC or Jefferson/USC, switch to the Red Line at 7th/Metro station and hop off at Pershing Square.
