How can you tell if your food contains GMOs? 🤔⠀

One way is to extract DNA 🧬 from, say, tortilla chips and test the DNA for the presence of a common #GMO marker.⠀

That’s just what students in “The Biology of Food” (BISC 115) taught by Grayson Jaggers will be doing in an upcoming lab. Here, Jaggers uses a process called electrophoresis to detect the DNA. His test showed that a popular brand of chips does in fact contain GMOs. ⠀
