Here's a checklist to keep in mind:
👕 Wear a properly fitted Personal Flotation Device (PFD) at all times, especially for kids 14 and under. 
👟 Wear protective footwear and appropriate clothing 
👫 Never float alone – use the buddy system and keep your group intact.
.📱Pre-plan your float, including the put-in and take-out locations, and have a backup plan for emergencies. 
 🅿️ Before you go, make a parking plan. 
During your float, be actively aware of hazards and remember these tips:
 🚫 Don't float under the influence – alcohol and drugs are a no-go. 
🌳 Avoid low-hanging branches and snags along the banks. 
🙌 Be respectful of others enjoying the river – avoid jumping within 50 feet of floaters, and follow any instructions from the Boise Fire Department. 
📞 In case of emergencies, call 911 and yell for help. Know your location on the river. 
♻️ Keep the river beautiful – no glass containers and dispose of trash appropriately.
