MMI takes you places. Earlier in September, Cadets Daniel Gaffney and Dawn Evans performed a wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. As Cadet Evans, Honor Guard Commander, reflects, "What an amazing opportunity it was for me to go to Arlington National Cemetery to represent Marion Military Institute in the laying of the wreath ceremony. It was a little intimidating at first to meet the guards, as they are very crisp and clean with all movements they do. Nonetheless we marched alongside them. I will never forget the feeling I had looking out and seeing hundreds of rows of white stones. Knowing those people have given their lives for me and this country, I’m proud to be an American. And I’m proud to one day be a commissioned lieutenant in the same Army as they were."
