Thanks #ACCS for the shout out! ••• #Repost from accs_education using RepostRegramApp - Here’s a surprising fact: NEARLY HALF of students (and most of its athletes) at MarionMilitary Institute are enrolled in the college’s civilian track with NO military obligation, so you can be “Marion Made” even if you are not considering the military. In addition, MMI has partnered with the Alabama Fire College to provide nationally certified firefighter and EMT courses as well as certified flight training on campus. So, whether your desire is to become a better leader or to pursue a military officer career, MMI is the community college for you! -----
OPPORTUNITY: While students interested in civilian careers gain the chance to study in a challenging academic environment in the framework of a military academy, half of MMI’s students are pursuing military officer careers, either through #Army #ROTC or transfer to U.S. Service Academies. MMI is one of ONLY FOUR #military junior colleges in the nation that offer a two-year track to commission as an Army officer. THAT NORMALLY IS A FOUR-YEAR PROCESS.
-----
HISTORY: MMI opened in Marion, Alabama (near Coretta Scott-King’s hometown) in 1842. The geographic diversity is also impressive: MMI cadets represent more than 40 U.S. states! Financial aid in the form of federal aid, scholarships and veteran’s benefits is available.
------
STUDENT LIFE: There’s a wide range of extracurricular activities such as precision drill team, SCUBA diving, band, honor guard, study abroad, intramurals, and more that help foster lifelong friendships. With cadet support, MMI hosts the annual Marion Made Challenge obstacle course race, Relay for Life cancer fundraiser and Fly-In at Vaiden Field. Cadets regularly work on beautification projects alongside local partners such as Main Street Marion, Judson College and UA Honors College. We are longtime participants in the Birmingham Veterans Day Parade, where 400+ cadets in Class A uniforms march to honor to our nation’s veterans. ------ MORE INFO: Contact the college at 1-800-664-1842 or visit online at www.marionmilitary.edu for more information.
