Jerry Lawson changed the world of #videogames with his invention of the first console to have a 8-way digital joystick, pause button and interchangeable cartridges! 🕹️ He later formed one of the first #BlackOwned video #gamedevelopment companies, VideoSoft. 🎮 

Continuing in Lawson’s footsteps of #BlackExcellence in #communication is modern day #technologist, Latoya Peterson. Once a writer for nytimes, npr & jezebel, today Peterson is the CXO and co-founder of glowup.games, a #gamestudio that centers #storytelling around black and brown joy. 👏🏾 latoyap was also a contributor to SoC professorgrace's book, “Black Game Studies!” 📕
