It can be paralyzing to think of standing up in front of a crowd and talking, but it's important to remember that public speaking is a skill, just like any other. With practice and preparation, you can overcome your fear and become a confident public speaker!⁠

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Practice speaking in front of smaller groups first. Whether it's just family or friends, or even just one other person—practice makes perfect! By practicing with smaller groups first, you'll get used to the idea of speaking in front of people. You'll also start to feel more comfortable with the environment and setting where you're practicing—the more comfortable you feel there, the more confident you'll feel when presenting on stage!⁠

Have someone listen to you while you practice your speech out loud (and get feedback). This will help you identify any areas where your speech needs improvement and make sure that what you're saying makes sense to other people too! You might even want to record yourself so that you can listen back later and see if any areas need improving.⁠

Another little tip: If you have trouble getting started because of nerves, try counting down from 10 before starting—this can help calm your nerves and set the tone for an engaging speech!⁠
