## Caption

I came up with the name for She Is Fierce! before my own little girl entered my life... 

But man, does she epitomize a #FierceGirl.

I love seeing how younger generations are able to stand up for themselves in ways we were told were "too harsh" or "unladylike."

I love being a mom to a fierce child who wakes up either jumping for joy or already arguing like the best lawyer for why she really shouldn't have to go to school that day.

Do you ever think about the advice you would give your younger self? 

Or how you can help your own daughter/niece/friend skip over some of the same pain you have had in your own life?

We can't protect them from everything, but we can sure try.

If I could give my younger self (and my mini-me) some advice, I would tell her:

Start sooner, ask for more. 

You are capable already... stop waiting for approval. 
 
Don’t try to prove yourself to people.  The only person who knows your worth is you (and your mom!)

Let those miserable people who try to steal your joy go with God. 

People who are nasty and unkind are fighting their own battles, and while you may not be able to help them, you're not obligated to let them hurt you.

Every second you spend on worrying about if you've done enough or what people think or if you'll ever 'get there' is a second lost.

A second you could have spent supporting a woman who is trying to do her best in the world. 

Or going for a walk with your husband. 

Or baking brownies with your kids. 

Or giving your grandmother a hug. 

You are enough, you are capable of more than you realize, and you are well-and-truly fierce.
