It's #NewTarHeelTuesday! Say hello to incoming first-year Ayanna Davis, an athlete and photographer who graduated from Washington High School.

1. What are you most looking forward to at Carolina?
What I am most looking forward to at Carolina is meeting a lot of new and different people. One of the reasons I chose UNC was because of the welcoming atmosphere created by all of the students and staff, and I can’t wait to be a part of that and build connections!

2. Who is your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration would have to be my dad. He has taught me countless life lessons, the main one being to never give up and follow your dreams. Without him, I probably would not be at UNC, so I am very grateful for all of his guidance!

3. What's your favorite part of playing basketball?
My favorite part of playing basketball was definitely being a part of a team that felt like a family. We didn’t just talk to each other because we had to, but because we enjoyed being in each other's presence. I made some of my favorite memories playing high school basketball and will forever be grateful for them.

4. What's the coolest thing you did in high school?
The coolest thing I did in high school was become the unofficial-but-official school photographer. I took pictures at every sporting event, lots of club events, and even small school events. Most of my pictures were used for the school yearbook, too, so that was really cool!
