Okay ladies, let’s talk about your cycle. Most of us don’t pay too much attention to it until we’re trying to conceive, or we notice something isn’t quite right. Your menstrual cycle isn’t just the week of your period - it actually encompasses the entire 28 days span that links the end of one period to the start of another! Many women don’t realize that during this fluctuating hormones can affect you all month long!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📆 Week 1: Your period. Tracking your cycle starts on the first day of your period, when you start shedding the lining of your uterus. Day 1 is when your estrogen and testosterone are at their lowest, which can trigger symptoms of PMS. By the middle of the week, your hormones begin to slowly rise and assist in boosting your mood and endurance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📆 Week 2: Follicular phase. The week after your period, you’re usually feeling pretty great! Estrogen is high - so you’re more optimistic, social, and motivated. As your body gears up for ovulation, your libido increases.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📆 Week 3: Ovulation. Your mature egg is released from an ovary - and this is the prime time for pregnancy. While the egg can only stay in your fallopian tube for 24 hours, sperm can live for two to three days inside your body. Remember to plan accordingly, whether you’re TTC or not!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📆 Week 4: PMS. Isn’t it great? Cramping, bloating, nausea, headaches, mood swings, and more… you can blame these PMS pains on your decreasing levels of estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. 90% of women between 20 and 40 experience physical symptoms of PMS!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How does tracking your cycle help you plan out your month?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
