Everyone saw Tim Anderson’s potential as a baseball player; it just took time for Tim to see it too. Even though TA7 went out for baseball, he initially wanted to focus on basketball. It took some convincing from a friend for Tim to try out for the baseball team at Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. His junior year he rode the bench until he got his start in left field then finished out his senior season at second base. Tim Anderson went on to play at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi on a baseball scholarship, his sole offer out of high school. After consistently putting up big numbers at East Central and Jayhawk Summer League in Kansas, Tim started to get looks from Major League scouts. Then on June 6, 2013, with the 17th selection in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft the Chicago White Sox made Tim Anderson’s big league dreams, a reality. Episode 3 drops on Tuesday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. CT Tim Anderson’s first major league game he attended was the one he played in. In Episode 3, watch as Tim becomes comfortable in his baseball skill and takes us through his journey through MiLB, his Major League debut, and his iconic bat flip in 2019. #TimAnderson #whitesox #mlb Chapters: 0:00 Episode 2 Introduction 0:53Hillcrest Baseball 3:15 East Central Community College 4:55 Being Scouted by the Majors 6:15 2013 First-Year Player Draft 7:17 Episode 3 Tease TA7: The Story of Tim Anderson is a five-episode documentary series, presented by @Nike, that explores Tim’s journey within the game of baseball and what makes Tim, Tim.
