Paper taped to my chest, shorts taped up like a diaper, reflective dots everywhere… yup, must be gait analysis testing! 🤓 🏃🏼‍♀️ 
Couple things here:
1) This setup is SUPER pro- the equipment used here is incredible and the scientists and engineers behind it putting the data into words we can comprehend are very smart individuals and I’m super lucky to have access to it…
HOWEVER, you can do a version of this too! Most run speciality stores these days have some kind of gait analysis technology to be able to give you some basic and necessary information about your form so that you can be aware of things you might be doing and not even notice and then make decisions about footwear or even drills or PT that is personalized to you.
2) Knowledge is power, right? YES, absolutely. HOWEVER, I have seen SO many incredible and decorated runners with “weird” form habits that for some reason just work for them. You don’t need to be perfect. The human body is not a machine. I work with my support team of PTs, Chiro, strength coach, and running coach every day on making my body stronger and more resilient, but everybody’s gait is gonna look a little different, so just like in life… you do you, ya know?
