Whelp… here I am again. Channeling my inner kateplusfate and hollylawrencetri on the 🚴🏼‍♀️ because I’m dealing with yet another injury that is forcing me to take a break from running.
This is obviously not how I wanted to start the new year but is also another reminder that our calendar doesn’t magically make us better, stronger, happier, more positive, more organized, less frazzled, or whatever your New Years resolutions might be.
We are all works in progress, constantly finding ways to improve and maximize while also enjoying the process and having fun along the way.
Today I’m choosing to focus on what I DO have, which includes:
-A warm and comfortable house at high altitude where I can cross-train and rehab and still get some massive benefits at 7,000 ft
-A garage gym I built this fall with all the tools I need at my fingertips
-A support system of people around me who can help guide me through this process so that I never feel alone
-The mental tools I can use to approach each day with an attitude that will help me achieve my goals
💪🏼 💪🏼
I’m learning and growing all the time, and one thing I know I can improve on is my attitude and the thoughts I allow to take up space in my head.
🧠 🧠 🧠
Right now I’m replacing “Damnit, I’m injured again” with “I have so many tools at my disposal that I can use to get stronger and maximize my ability.”
Hope these thoughts help you if you’re going through an injury or setback in your own life.
