Cross country is what got me hooked on running my freshman year of high school. It was the first time I understood running to be a TEAM sport.
Even though I’m stronger in track, I always loved the cross country season in college because we were all in it together- we all did the same workouts and we all lined up on the starting line shoulder to shoulder to go into battle TOGETHER.
Being at the bigskyconf championships with psuvikstf yesterday reminded me why XC is so dang special.
The PSU women’s team finished 3rd and the men were 6th. katieecamarena finished 4th in 16:35 for a 5k XC school record!
Cross country is all about grit and grinding it out for the team. I’ve always found that I can dig deeper and make myself hurt more when I know my team is counting on me. And that’s exactly what these athletes did yesterday. GO VIKS!!!
