Race announcement!! 💪🏼 ⭐️ 
I was hoping to post these photos today to announce my plan to race in Texas tomorrow to raise money for Winter Storm Uri relief efforts.
While I definitely am strong like Texas, sometimes it requires a special kind of strength to recognize when the body needs some rest and recovery instead of a race...
I’ve been working my 🍑 off at high altitude the last 7 weeks, but may have actually gone a little too hard when I got ready to leave the mountains my body had other plans! While I’m getting some great treatment from the team at Maximum Mobility in Phoenix, I’m not gonna be quite race ready by tomorrow.
It’s an Olympic year! Gonna get back to 100% this weekend then get back to work to be ready for the next opportunity to use this third lung I’ve built at altitude! 😤
My mission for this race was to go to Texas and run fast FOR TEXANS! Winter Storm Uri hit Texas so hard and left so much destruction in its wake. According to AccuWeather, Texas sustained between $45 and $50 billion in damage and economic loss from the storm. People need help with plumbing, home repair, temporary housing, and other basic needs.
Texans are strong and resilient and they will get through this difficult time by supporting one another and putting their cities back together. Even though I’m not racing, I’m sending my support to Texans through a donation to Habitat Texas, an org that is focused on long-term recovery through home repairs, policy change, preventing post-disaster scams, and preparation for future storms.
I’ve included a link to Habitat Texas in my bio and this post has a donation button! I encourage anyone who feels like they can to give a donation to those trying to put their lives back together in the great state of Texas.
