In the UK, Black History Month is celebrated in the month of October! Black History Month was first celebrated in the UK in 1987, 150 years after the abolition of slavery in the Caribbean. Celebrating Black History Month in this autumn month gives schools in the UK the opportunity to incorporate it into their curriculums.
