Sprinting down the middle of an empty 5th Avenue with 20 other top distance runners in the world... wish I could be there today competing in this incredibly fun and wild event that is the 5th Ave Mile! I was 2nd last year and know I’ll be back next year battling for that 🥇!
I had planned to miss it this year (even before this injury hiccup) because my teammates and I are focusing on World Champs in Doha in a few weeks, but it broke my heart to turn down an offer to race in my favorite city in such a unique setting.
Good luck to all the speedy women out there today! If I know one thing about that race, it’s that it goes by SO fast! So when you think you need to back off, keep pouring it on! You won’t regret it!💪🏼
