In a couple months you’ll find usual suspects competing for Team USA in Doha, Qatar in the women’s steeplechase! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 First, thank you so much to everyone who sent messages, tuned in, and came out in the brutal heat and then rain to watch the meet in person. Walking around the stadium after meeting people and taking selfies makes me realize how awesome track fans are and I love you guys!
🇺🇸
Congrats to Emma and Courtney, both ran such strong races, finishing with an impressive 2 lap sprint! And congrats to allie_ostrander on her first USA team, finishing 4th to secure that bonus spot to Doha! Welcome to the steeple squad, Allie!
🇺🇸
While I am honored to be a part of this team and grateful to be able to compete this year and be healthy in Des Moines, I’d be lying if I said I was completely satisfied. Staying healthy has been such a battle for me ever since I went pro. The many injuries that have left me in the pool and on the bike are frustrating and continually test my love and dedication to the sport. I want to be on the team, I want to go to worlds, but now I want more than that. I want to be a contender for a national title in the steeplechase, to get a real shot at the American record, and to vie for a podium spot on the world level. I’m not there yet, but the summer isn’t over yet either.
I’m gonna take a couple mental rest days, but then it’s back to work with my #BowermanBabes because while I am frustrated, I’m not lacking the drive or fire and I know my teammates aren’t either. 🔥
