Huge happy birthday to the queen 👸🏼 standing next to me! shalaneflanagan is such an inspiration to me and the rest of the #Bowermanbabes! I don't know anyone who works harder than Shalane does every single goddamn day, always striving to be her best self- an exemplary athlete and human. When I first moved to Portland in 2015, Shalane and Steve were generous enough to let me camp out in their beautiful basement for a few months after which I jokingly (read: seriously) made a bid to move in permanently! Luckily I flew the coop and made room for two other sweet young women to enter their lives. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧
We are so lucky to have you as a teammate, friend, mentor, and leader. You deserve some serious bday celebrations today, Mama! 🎉 🎂 🍷
