Getting back into training is so humbling!

It took so many hours of work to get to that finish line in July. Then I remember this smile and the feeling of relief and satisfaction that went along with it. I realize that's not always the case- sometimes you do all the work and don't get the result you're looking for, but as athletes we don't stop striving for that high of success. 
This is one photograph from a beautiful collection by davidbracetty at the US Olympic Trials this summer. Some of the photos are happy and some are sad. I realize that it could have gone either way for me that day and it's that knowledge that motivates me this off season as I look towards 2017.
