"Growing up on the small island of #Guam, I aspired to be different. I was so decisive that I joined the Army to make that change. At age 17, I signed up to be a part-time medic (68W) while being a full-time college student. As a medic, I traveled for free around the world training to save lives. One of the most rewarding parts of being an Army medic was providing #humanitarian services to other foreign countries. I am very honored to have worked with the BEST PROFESSIONALS in the British Army, French Army, and the Philippines Army. I taught combat life saver courses and certified a number of Soldiers. I love being a medic! -

This gave me a #purpose and has become one of my passions in life - helping other people who are in dire need.  I love the challenges, the discipline, and most importantly the camarederie. I respect the fact that few of my supervisors, most of my peers, and other subordinates, my sisters-and-brothers-in-arms, would become my lifelong, extended family. -

While serving as a part-time Soldier, I was able to complete an Associate degree, a Bachelors degree, and a Master’s degree all paid for by the Army. This 16 years of part-time experience taught me so much in life and has motivated me to continue serving our country to become a full-time Army Recruiter (79R). -

Now at 20 years, I am currently assigned as a Medical Recruiter hiring #medical professionals to our Army to ensure that we provide our own #Soldiers and their families the best quality of #healthcare while serving our country. Again, one of the most challenging, yet, rewarding jobs you could ever experience being in the military. This is my Army Story." #RP careneva
