Uff! Qué honor, que hermosa sorpresa. Gracias al soccerhof y a ussoccer por este reconocimiento, por inmortalizar mi nombre en el Salón de la Fama en Frisco, Texas. El requisito para ganar el Colin Jose Award es haber contribuido por 25 años cubriendo a la selección de Estados Unidos, a la que en 1994 llamé y hasta el día de hoy le siguen diciendo “la selección de todos”. Hace más de 30 años que me une un sentido de pertenencia muy fuerte con el fútbol de este país. Lo vi crecer y vi crecer a sus figuras, lo sufrí, lo disfruté y lo sigo disfrutando. La selección me regaló amigos y mis mejores relatos: desde landondovan10 en inglés en Sydney 2000 al gol del 2010, de los goles de Brian Mc Bride en 2002 al de carlilloyd en 2015. Siempre sentí algo especial, ahora me han hecho sentir parte de su historia. Gracias, de todo corazón.

What an honor and what a wonderful surprise. Thank you to soccerhof and to my friends at ussoccer. Thank you to the committee members that thought that my contributions merited me to receive  the Colin Jose Media Award. I have been covering the usmnt for more than 30 years from that day in Port of Spain in 1989 when Paul Caligiuri’s shot was heard around the world to the last World Cup in Russia. From 1991 and for 20 years at fdpradio we organized the player of the year award to recognize the best player in the National Team, when only a few could recognize the names of an extraordinary generation. I have seen the game and their stars grow to unsuspected heights. I was honored to have the kick of honor in the very first MLS game in 1996 and I am awed at where mls is today. The US Team has given me lots of friends and some of my best calls have come in their games

Just thinking that my name will be immortalized in the Hall of Fame Museum in Frisco, Texas as a Colin Jose Award recipient, gives me the chills. Thank You, from the bottom of my heart.
